The Great Haboob

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my last post! Ok, ok, more than a month. It’s been a very busy month and I promise I’ll be more dedicated my updates in the future. I have some fun things to report on the house, so stay tuned!

Today was a pretty typical Monday, until around 5:30 p.m. That’s when the Great Haboob of 2011 blew in…

The Great Haboob

Yep… That’s what I saw when I walked out of my office this afternoon. Any rational, clearly thinking person would probably would have run back into the office and hid under her desk, but my first thought was: ‘What a great opportunity to try out the camera on my new iPhone!’ That’s exactly what I did. Took as many photos as I could, then jumped in the car and took a few more.

It was a few minutes after the storm hit and my car was rocking like a boat in a hurricane, that I decided to make a break for it back into the office. Where I hid under my desk until the building stopped rocking. Thank goodness for the new iPhone!

Here are a few more photos from the office and from my drive home.

    • No damage to the house or car, other than the threat of tumble weeds bigger than my mustang blowing around! We did have a neighbor lose a couple of shingles on the north side of their roof. We actually just finished a new fence at our house, which held up beautifully to the 70+ mile-per-hour winds.
